Fraser Firs are popular in the Christmas tree industry; their glossy dark green needles with a blue underside make for a very showy tree. They prefer well drained, acidic soils, but they are not drought tolerant. They have short needles with soft rounded tips. Full sun to partial shade is best for Frasers. With its intolerance to pollution, planting in areas with high urban pollution should be avoided. Frasers can be expected to live for 75+ years.
